The hills are alive…

Gosh, I must make a note to self to come up with something other than lyrics from The Sound of Music for titles in future…

Well, last night the hills really were alive with the sound of music. More precisely, the Yorkshire Dales were alive with the sound of the fabulous Hallé symphony orchestra. We enjoyed frozen Strawberry-tinis with a range of sandwiches, cupcakes and other tasty treats whilst Sir Tim Rice presented us (and 4000 others) with numbers including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Dance Ti The Daddy, Jerusalem, the E.T. Flying Theme and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah. A spectacular finale of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture accompanied by impressive fireworks made us forget that we were sat on bin bags with soggy bottoms.

I am now enjoying a lovely leftovers lunch – gotta love them.

Oh and apologies for the poor quality of the photos, technical failure with a certain camera has left us using Dickon’s iPhone for the time being.
